EXIT Academy

The primary goal of the EXIT Academy is to help high school seniors prepare for graduation and for transition into post-secondary education, training, or employment. The model aims to connect students with experiences and opportunities to learn and apply the skills that will assist in their transition.

This model will address the following 3 areas:

1. Pathways to Graduation
• Students will be aware of graduation requirements and will develop short term goals to stay on track for graduation
• Students will be able to advocate for any support needed in meeting graduation requirements

2. Exploration and Exposure to Career Field of Interest
• Students will identify and explore career fields of interest
• Students will develop post-secondary action plans outlining short term and long term goals based on career field of interest
• Students will develop a portfolio of documents needed to transition into post-secondary endeavors

3. Access Resources
• Students will develop an understanding of the services that the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and the Department Of Employment Services offer
• Students will identify and connect with Disability Support Services at their post-secondary education institution
• Students will identify community resources that provide opportunities for post-secondary support
