Competitive Employment Opportunities (CEO) is housed within the DC Public Schools Division of Specialized Instruction under the leadership of Corinne Colgan- Chief of the Office of Teaching and Learning, Regina Grimmett- Senior Deputy Chief for the Division of Specialized Instruction, and Ashlie Jones – Director of Transition. Ashlie is the Director of Postsecondary Transition for DCPS Division of Specialized Instruction. She is a former Special Education Teacher, having begun her career with the District of Columbia Public Schools at Cardozo High School. At Cardozo, Ashlie was a Cheerleading Coach and co-founder of Cardozo Ladies of Distinction, a mentoring program for young women. Ashlie earned a B.A. in Psychology from the The College of William and Mary, and a M.A. in Transition Special Education from The George Washington University.
Prior to her role as Manager, Wendy Parker worked with DCPS students for over 4 years in the role as Job Placement Specialist. She has successfully assisted in transitioning students to post-secondary outcomes that include college, career, and adult services. Prior to DCPS, Wendy served as the Transition Youths Supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager at a Maryland Non-Profit. She has over 10 years of experience working with students with disabilities and assisting them to achieve their goals. Wendy earned her B.S. in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Pittsburgh. Her passion and dedication to student’s success is what drives her mission.
